CONDITIONS OF INSURANCE BELOW THE SUMMARY

SUMMARY OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

1.- Please complete the registration form and send it to us. For any questions or clarifications, you can contact us by email at info@ihvalladolid.com, by phone at +34 983337432, WhatsApp at +34 654137361, or in person.

2.- To make the registration effective, you must send a deposit of €250 by bank transfer or cash payment.

You must include your name and course dates as the reference in your transfer. The €250 will be deducted from the total cost of your course.

3.- Upon receiving your deposit, we will reserve your course and accommodation, if requested. You will receive by email at the address provided: the confirmation of your course, the student manual, the invoice for your course with the remaining amount due, as well as detailed information about your trip and stay. Approximately 10 days before the start of the course and once the full payment has been received, IH Valladolid will send you the address of your accommodation if requested.

4.- Payment: Please note that payments are only accepted in euros (€) and must be received at IH Valladolid 20 days before the course start date. Payments can be made by bank transfer (all fees are the student’s responsibility) to our account (details provided above) or in cash at our office.

5.- On the first day of your course: Arrive at the school at the time indicated in your confirmation letter. Bring a copy of your registration confirmation and proof of payment.

6.- Cancellation policy: Any cancellation request must be made in writing and sent to the email address: info@ihvalladolid.com at least 20 days in advance (the €250 deposit is non-refundable in any case). If the cancellation request is received between 20 and 8 days in advance, the cost of the first week of the course will also be charged. No refunds will be made after 8 days before the start of the course. No refunds will be made for incomplete courses or for lessons not delivered on public holidays, except at the discretion of IH Valladolid management.

7.- Accommodation will be reserved for the period indicated on the registration form, from the Sunday before the start date until the day after the course ends. If a cancellation is requested once you are already in the accommodation, then we will refund the proportional amount used minus 20% for administrative reasons. A two-week notice is always required.

8.- To obtain visa documentation, the full payment for the course and accommodation is required. If the visa is denied, a copy of the denial must be provided to receive a refund for the course cost. If entry to Spain is denied, the student is entitled to request a full refund. If the student visa is successfully issued, the student will not be entitled to any refund, except under exceptional circumstances. If the visa is obtained and the student fails to attend the course, we will be required to report this to the relevant authorities.

9.- The student accepts full responsibility for their personal well-being and certifies their ability to financially support themselves during their stay in Spain. This includes, but is not limited to, medical care, travel arrangements, and food.

10.- IH Valladolid reserves the right to reduce the number of weekly lessons in intensive courses if the number of students in a group is less than 3 or to start or postpone courses depending on the number of enrolled students (minimum of 3 students).
If there is only one or two students in a group, class time will be reduced to two hours of lessons. The student will also have two hours of supervised exercises at the school if there are only one or two students in that group.

11.- Any act that endangers the physical or psychological integrity and safety of the IH Valladolid team or causes significant material damage to the center’s facilities may result in expulsion from the course at the discretion of the management.

12.- Data protection policy: In compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Organic Law on Data Protection and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), we inform you that INTERNATIONAL HOUSE VALLADOLID, S.L.U. collects and processes your personal data, applying technical and organizational measures to ensure confidentiality, for the purpose of managing the provision of services according to our contractual relationship.
By this means, you give your consent and authorization for such processing. We will retain your personal data for the necessary time to manage the relationship that binds us. You may exercise your rights of access, rectification, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection by contacting INTERNATIONAL HOUSE VALLADOLID at PLAZA MARCOS FERNANDEZ 1, VALLADOLID 47014, or by sending an email to INFO@IHVALLADOLID.COM.

CANCELLATION INSURANCE
SUMMARY OF GUARANTEES FOR CANCELLATION, INTERRUPTION, AND TRAVEL CONDITION CHANGES

  • TRAVEL CANCELLATION COSTS:
    The INSURER guarantees, up to the limit established in the Specific Conditions, reimbursement of travel cancellation expenses incurred by the INSURED and invoiced to them based on the general conditions of sale of anyravel providers, as long as the trip is canceled before the start date, due to one of the reasons listed below that affect the INSURED and occur after the insurance was contracted, preventing them from traveling on the scheduled dates.The following will be included in this guarantee: duly justified MANAGEMENT EXPENSES, cancellation fees (if any), and any penalties applied according to the law or the terms of the trip.

    • For health reasons
    • Serious illness, serious accident, or death:
      • Of the INSURED, their spouse, or their ascendants or descendants up to the degree of consanguinity, affinity, or lateral relationship indicated in the Particular Conditions of the policy.
      • Of a travel companion of the INSURED, registered on the same booking and also insured.
      • Of the professional substitute of the INSURED, provided that their position or responsibility must be assumed by the INSURED during the period of absence.
      • Of the person responsible during the trip and/or stay for taking care of minor children or dependent persons. For this guarantee to be valid, the name and surname of this person must be provided at the time of subscribing to the insurance.

      It will also be considered grounds for cancellation if the health condition of the INSURED, which is not considered a serious illness or accident, completely prevents them from carrying out the activity covered by the insurance, as verified by the INSURER’s medical service.

      If the illness or accident affects any of the aforementioned persons, other than the INSURED, it will be considered serious if, after contracting the insurance, it results in hospitalization or requires bed rest and demands, in the judgment of a medical professional, continuous care and attention from healthcare personnel or designated caregivers by prior medical prescription, and it is expected that this situation will persist within the 12 days prior to the start of the trip.

    The INSURED must notify the INSURER immediately of the incident on the date it occurs. The INSURER reserves the right to conduct a medical evaluation of the INSURED, the companion, the professional substitute, or the responsible person to assess whether the cause truly prevents the trip from starting. If the illness does not require hospitalization, the INSURED must notify the INSURER immediately after the event that caused the cancellation of the trip.

    • Unexpected call for surgery, including the necessary medical tests prior to the surgery, as long as this circumstance prevents the INSURED from traveling.
      • Of the INSURED, their spouse, or ascendants or descendants up to the degree of consanguinity, affinity, or lateral relationship indicated in the Particular Conditions of the policy.
      • Of a travel companion of the INSURED, registered on the same booking and also insured.
      • Of the professional substitute of the INSURED, provided that their position or responsibility must be assumed by the INSURED during the period of absence.
      • Of the person responsible during the trip and/or stay for taking care of minor children or dependent persons. For this guarantee to be valid, the name and surname of this person must be provided at the time of subscribing to the insurance.
    • Call for organ transplant for the INSURED, their companion, or ascendants or descendants up to the degree of consanguinity, affinity, or lateral relationship indicated in the Particular Conditions of the policy, provided they were already on the waiting list at the time of booking the trip and the insurance.
    • Any illness of children under 48 months who are insured under this policy or are first-degree relatives of the INSURED, occurring within 2 days prior to the start of the trip.
    • Serious pregnancy complications or miscarriage of the INSURED, which, according to a medical professional, requires bed rest or hospitalization. Complications after the seventh month of pregnancy and childbirth are excluded.
      If the INSURED must cancel for this reason, the cancellation of their spouse or partner and minor children, registered on the same booking and also insured, will also be covered.
    • Death of a third-degree relative.
    • Positive COVID-19 test, with certified proof of the INSURED’s identity, taken no more than 72 hours before the start of the trip, if it results in hospitalization, mandatory medical quarantine, or prevents the trip due to restrictions on transportation or entry to the destination. If the INSURED must cancel for this reason, the cancellation of the following is also covered:
      • Their spouse, ascendants, or descendants up to the second degree of consanguinity, affinity, or lateral relationship, registered on the same booking and also insured.
      • A travel companion of the INSURED, registered on the same booking and also insured.

      This cause will be valid starting 7 days after the insurance was purchased if the insurance was not contracted at the time of booking.

    • For legal reasons
      • Summons as a party, jury member, or witness in a Court of Justice, except for legal professionals.
      • Summons for official exams convened by a public body after the subscription of the policy. Excluded are exams held before the start of the trip or exams applied for after the booking of the trip and/or insurance.
      • Summons as a member of an electoral board.
      • Tax obligations discovered after booking, requiring a parallel income tax declaration where the amount exceeds €600.
    • Visa denial for unjustified reasons. This will not be considered a covered cause if the denial is due to the INSURED’s failure to carry out the necessary procedures within the required time frame and format.
    • Police detention of the INSURED is not covered
      • Adoption of a child:
        The delivery of a child for adoption is covered. However, prior trips and formalities necessary to finalize the adoption or foster care process are excluded.
      • Official summons for divorce proceedings for the INSURED:
        Summons for divorce-related matters are covered, except for meetings with a lawyer.
      • Summons to sign official documents before a Public Administration on the scheduled travel dates.
      • Judicial prohibition derived from a legal separation or divorce situation.
      • Proven attempt by a legally restricted person to visit the INSURED.
      • Serving a prison sentence by a parent of the INSURED for reasons unknown prior to the insurance contract.

      For work-related reasons

      • Dismissal of the INSURED for non-disciplinary reasons, provided there was no prior verbal or written notice at the time of insurance subscription. This guarantee does not cover job termination due to the end of a contract, voluntary resignation, or failure to pass a probationary period.
      • Employment of the INSURED at a new job with a different company, provided that the employment contract was signed after the insurance subscription, and this circumstance was unknown at the time of booking. This coverage also applies if the INSURED was previously unemployed.
        For multiple contracts with temporary employment agencies (ETTs), they will be considered as contracts for the companies where the worker carries out their duties.
      • Mandatory relocation of the INSURED’s workplace for a period longer than three months.
      • Extension of the employment contract for the INSURED, provided that there was no prior verbal or written notice.
      • Judicial declaration of bankruptcy of a company that prevents the INSURED from continuing their professional activity.
      • Dismissal of the parents of the INSURED for non-disciplinary reasons, provided there was no prior verbal or written notice at the time of insurance subscription. This guarantee does not cover job termination due to the end of a contract, voluntary resignation, or failure to pass a probationary period.
      • Employment of the INSURED’s parents at a new job with a different company, under the same conditions as for the INSURED, including previous unemployment.
      • Mandatory relocation of the INSURED’s parents for a period longer than three months.
      • Extension of the employment contract for the INSURED’s parents, provided that there was no prior verbal or written notice.
      • Judicial declaration of bankruptcy that prevents the INSURED’s parents from continuing their professional activity.

      Extraordinary causes

      • Serious damage caused by fire, theft, explosion, or natural events affecting the INSURED’s primary or secondary residence, or a professional establishment where they practice a liberal profession or manage a business, making their presence necessary.
      • Extraordinary Causes Covered

        • Piracy Acts (Air, Land, or Sea):
          If the insured is unable to start or continue their journey due to acts of piracy, the event will be covered. Terrorist acts, however, are excluded.
        • Official Declaration of Catastrophic Zone:
          Coverage is provided if the insured’s residence, destination, or transit route is declared a catastrophe zone. A maximum indemnity of €100,000 per claim is set for this cause.
        • Medical Quarantine:
          If the insured is confined to medical quarantine by a competent health authority’s decision after booking the trip, the event is covered. Quarantines due to epidemics or pandemics are excluded.
        • COVID-19 Quarantine:
          If the insured is confined due to COVID-19 by health authorities after booking the trip, they will be covered. Quarantine from contact with a positive case within the family is also covered. For language courses abroad shorter than 30 days, cancellation due to this reason is included.

        Other Causes

        • Theft of Necessary Travel Documents:
          If travel documents are stolen, preventing reissuance before the trip, the event is covered. Loss, misplacement, or theft is excluded.
        • Free Trip or Accommodation:
          If the insured wins a similar trip or stay through a public lottery, cancellation of the original trip is covered.
        • Official Scholarship Grant:
          If an official scholarship conflicts with the scheduled trip, cancellation is covered.
        • Vehicle Breakdown:
          Coverage is provided if the insured’s primary mode of travel is their vehicle and it breaks down, preventing the trip’s start or continuation. The repair must exceed 8 hours or cost more than €600, as per the manufacturer’s standards.
        • Cancellation by Accompanying Travelers:
          If up to two insured people under the same reservation cancel due to covered causes, and the insured must travel alone, the policy covers this. Minors under 18 are not counted. If the insured opts to travel alone, additional charges (up to €180 per insured person) are covered.
        • Transfer of Reservation Ownership:
          If the insured transfers the trip due to a covered cause, additional costs from the change in reservation ownership are covered, provided they do not exceed the trip’s cancellation cost.
        • Failure in School or University Exams:
          For summer courses, coverage is provided if the student fails and the resit exam conflicts with the trip. For academic year programs, the trip can be canceled if exams prevent the student from starting the next school year or if the resit exam conflicts with the scheduled travel dates. University exam failures are excluded.
        • Sports Selection:
          If the insured is summoned to represent their country or region in a national or regional sports event, the trip can be canceled if it conflicts with travel dates. The summons must occur after booking the insurance. Known events before booking are excluded.

        Trip Interruption

        The insured is reimbursed for unused prepaid travel services if the trip is interrupted due to:

        1. Accident or illness of the insured.
        2. Hospitalization of an uninsured family member for at least 24 hours.
        3. Death of the insured or an uninsured family member during the trip.
        4. Serious damage (fire, theft, explosion, or natural events) affecting the insured’s primary/secondary residence or business premises requiring their presence.
        5. Compensation for Trip Interruption

          1. Calculation of Compensation:
            Compensation will be based on the amounts of unused land services for the insured starting from the day after the early return, provided the insured has not recovered costs through the travel provider. For air services, only those not yet enjoyed are included.
          2. Definition of Land Services:
            Land services encompass hotel or apartment stays, land excursions, and any other terrestrial provision (such as meals at hotels, bus, limousine, etc.) contracted prior to the trip. For cruise bookings, the coverage includes the portion of the cruise not enjoyed.
          3. Lost Days Count:
            The counting of lost travel days starts from the day after the early return or medical repatriation organized by the insurer, except in cases of hospitalization, where it begins from the hospitalization date.
          4. Coverage for Accompanying Travelers:
            This coverage extends to a companion traveling with the insured, provided they are also insured under this policy, should they choose to conclude their trip early to accompany the insured home.

          Interruption of Travel Due to COVID-19 Quarantine

          • Reimbursement:
            The insurer will reimburse the insured or their beneficiary (in case of death) for unused travel services contracted before the trip if the insured is in quarantine due to a COVID-19 positive test that prevents them from leaving the hotel. Air services enjoyed prior to this will be excluded.
          • Cruise Travel:
            For cruises, interruption coverage is provided if the COVID-19 positive test occurs at the initial embarkation.
          • Calculation of Compensation:
            Compensation will be based on unused land services from the start of the medical quarantine, starting the day after the quarantine begins, assuming the insured has not recovered these amounts from the travel provider.

          Change of Travel Dates or Postponement

          1. Change of Dates:
            If the trip has not yet started and the insured wishes to change dates due to a covered cause under cancellation expenses, the insurer will cover additional costs imposed by the travel organizer.
          2. Reimbursement for Unused Services:
            The insurer will reimburse the cost of nights and classes not enjoyed if the insured must postpone the trip due to covered causes.
          3. Conditions:
            This coverage applies as long as the total costs of the change and reimbursement for unused services do not exceed the cancellation costs. If this guarantee is used, the insurance will be terminated.

          Specific Exclusions for Cancellation Expenses, Trip Interruption, and Change of Conditions

          The following are not covered by this guarantee:

          1. Treatments or conditions not preventing the use of contracted transport.
          2. Mental health issues without hospitalization or those justifying less than seven days of hospitalization.
          3. Chronic or pre-existing conditions that worsened within 30 days before policy purchase.
          4. Non-insured family member conditions that do not require emergency treatment.
          5. Recklessness, negligence, or participation in illegal activities.
          6. Epidemics, pandemics, and related quarantines.
          7. War, civil unrest, and terrorism effects.
          8. Lack of essential travel documents unless due to theft in specific circumstances.
          9. Intentional self-harm or suicide.
          10. Nuclear or radiological incidents and natural disasters (except for officially declared catastrophic zones).
          11. Additional costs from reservation errors.
          12. No-show on the day of travel commencement.
          13. Known public circumstances before insurance purchase.
          14. Fear of flying.

          Coverage for Loss of Contracted Services Due to Hospitalization or Serious Illness

          • If hospitalization or serious illness causes the insured to miss contracted services (like excursions or accommodations), the insurer will reimburse the loss up to the limit stated in the policy.
          • Visit Criteria:
            For visits covering multiple locations, reimbursement is only possible if more than half of the planned visits cannot be made.

          Exclusions Applicable to Delays and Loss of Services

          The following are not covered under these guarantees:

          1. Services not requested or agreed upon by the insurer.
          2. Losses caused by the insured or their companions’ intent.
          3. Losses occurring due to war, civil unrest, terrorism, strikes, etc.
          4. Losses due to nuclear or chemical agents.
          5. Restaurant and hotel expenses not covered by the policy.
          6. Conflict scenarios.
